Truck Stolen While Owner Jailed
A local man reported to authorities that his truck was stolen recently while he was incarcerated at the local jail.
The victim filed the complaint with Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies on Friday, January 4. He reported that the 2005 Chevrolet K1500 had been stolen sometime between January 2 and 3.
The victim indicated that he had been jailed at the Lawrence County Detention Center during that time. He said that after his release he had initially believed the truck had been impounded by law enforcement officials. Once he learned it had not, he called to file a theft report.
The victim said that he the only two sets of keys for the truck are in his possession. He said he had no idea who could have stolen it. The truck has an estimated value of $9,000.
